I experienced so much my first day in downtown London, I can’t even begin to explain.  Slept in quite a bit to recover from travel and walking around yesterday.  Our group of 7 suite mates left the apartment and travelled by Tube towards Covent Gardens where we walked through various coffee shops, bistros, an outdoor Indian festival filled with live music and dance performances, and street performances.  Not to mention, we stopped many times along the way to take pictures of the architecture and the iconic touristy pose in a red telephone booth.  We ate lunch at a fancy French restaurant and then proceeded to shop at Primark, which is 4 story department store on Oxford Street.  It was overwhelming after only wandering for 45 minutes amongst hundred of racks of clothes.  Headed back home and ordered my groceries for the week, it’s a trend in London to only pay 1 pound for grocery delivery and since there aren’t close stores nearby, it’s incredibly convenient.  I also went to mass at St. Thomas Italian Catherdral, which as spoken completely in Italian.  Thanks to some experience with Spanish, I was able to mildly understand the liturgy…looks like picking up another language will be added to my bucket list!
